Sorry to report that Eamon Loingsigh won’t be able to attend, but  David McLoghlin and John J. Trause will be at Café Dada on Tuesday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m.  Enjoy the Old World ambiance in Park Slope that’s near several subways.  Feast on French-Hungarian cuisine and delectable pastries.  Relax with some wine or beer, a cup of coffee or tea while listening to great poetry. There’s an open mic as well. Poetry does grow in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

David McLoghlin, a poet from Ireland, lives in Windsor Terrace since 2012.  He is an M.F.A. candidate at NYU’s Creative Writing Program. His first collection, Waiting For Saint Brendan, was published by Salmon Poetry in 2012. David’s work is forthcoming in the United States in Harper’s Ferry, Spoon River Poetry Review, Natural Bridge, Black Lawrence Press, and has been published in the USA by the Hopkins Review, Eire-Ireland, Prick of the Spindle, and has appeared in journals of note in Ireland. He has previously read at McNally Jackson, Franklin Park Reading Series, Freerange Nonfiction, Earshot, as well as in venues in Spain, Ireland, and elsewhere in the United States.







John J. Trause, Director of Oradell Public Library, is the author of Eye Candy for Andy (Finishing Line Press, 2013); Inside Out, Upside Down, and Round and Round (Nirala, 2012); Seriously Serial (Poets Wear Prada, rev. ed. 2014); and Latter-Day Litany (Éditions élastiques, 1996), the latter staged Off-Off Broadway. His translations, poetry, and visual work appear internationally in many journals and anthologies, including the artists’ periodical Crossings, the Dada journal Maintenant, and the avant-garde journal Offerta Speciale.  Founder of the William Carlos Williams Poetry Cooperative in Rutherford, N. J. and former curator of its monthly reading series, he was nominated for the Pushcart Prize (2009 – 2011, 2013).

 Bill Pyles grew up on the farm in Michigan. He started writing verse before he was ten.  Love overpowered him in his early school “daze.” He has a BA and two MAs.  He has taught school for 30 years.  He’s been on the poetry circuit since “way back when” and has published his poems “here and there” in newspapers, magazines, and the poetry circuit presses. Bill has printed three booklets, Boxing, Tissues of Lives, and Under the Influence. He is now working on Flint Farmer’s Market Romance.  


Poet, musician Demetrius Daniel from Kensington, Georgia, has been a Washington Heights resident since 1990. He began reading poetry in 1996 at Nuyorican Poet’s Cafe. He received mention in a NY Times article (3/20/09), “Where Boundaries Are Melting, a Place to Celebrate Differences.” He has a CD, “Word’s Speak.” Publication credits include Nomad’s Choir Poetry, Brownstone Poets Anthology 2009, and The Cartier Street Review. A featured trombonist on Fred Arcoleo’s CD, “Seeds,” his concept, “Tromboetry” infuses  poetry with trombone riffs Demetrius performs regularly  at “Word Up” bookstore and Nomad’s Choir. A Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance member, he formed and leads the NYC Brass Brothers Band.
